Bittersweet Farms
Project type
Photographs
Date
Fall 2024
Location
Northern New York
At Bittersweet Farms in Northern New York, I approached photography as a form of storytelling. Seeking out the quiet, unfiltered moments that define life on a small, biodiverse farm, I documented the rhythms as they unfolded: hands in the soil, the movement of animals through pasture, the sweet, subtle interplay between farmer and land. My goal was to create a visual narrative that felt honest and immersive, highlighting not just the beauty of the landscape, but the intention, labor, and interconnectedness that sustain it. Through this work, I aimed to translate the depth of small-scale, regenerative farming into imagery that invites viewers to slow down and truly see it. Highlights were capturing the birthdays of dozens of piglets and a few calfs.
