Farms and Fish

The photographs I captured of the Farms and Fish program at HFF document a unique, collaborative effort where agriculture and ecology are intentionally intertwined—showing farmers, scientists, and landscapes working together to conserve water and protect fish habitats in the Henry’s Fork watershed. The program itself partners directly with local irrigators to implement more efficient irrigation methods, adjust crop systems, and reduce water withdrawals so that more water remains in rivers and reservoirs, ultimately sustaining both working farms and healthy fisheries . My images reflect this balance: fields and irrigation infrastructure existing in quiet dialogue with nearby waterways, hands-on data collection and research unfolding in real time, and the subtle but powerful connection between land stewardship and aquatic life.
