Fly Fishing

Project type

Photographs

Date

Summer 2019

Location

Henry's Fork Watershed, ID

Fly fishing is a central thread in the mission of the HFF to protect and preserve the watershed. I focused on capturing the relationship between angler and environment: the careful reading of water, the intentionality behind each cast, and the deep respect required to engage with these ecosystems responsibly. The images highlight how fly fishing depends on the health of the watershed, illustrating that conservation is not separate from the experience, but essential to it. Through this work, I aimed to show fly fishing as both a practice rooted in tradition and a living expression of environmental stewardship.
